The Altoona Housing Authority provides housing for low and moderate income families, elderly persons and non-elderly disabled persons who have applied, qualified, and subsequently advanced to the top of the appropriate waiting list. There are four main housing developments plus a rent assistance program (Section 8).
Eleventh Street Tower
Provides subsidized housing for low income elderly and non-elderly disabled persons.
Green Avenue Tower
Provides subsidized housing for low income elderly and disabled persons
Fairview Hills
Provides subsidized housing for low income families.
Pleasant Village
Provides housing for moderate income families.
Section 8
The section 8 waiting list is currently closed; no applications are being accepted.
